Dennis Tmej, Partner at Grant Thornton is the chair of our National Tax Solutions and Best Practices Committee. In that role, he enjoys the ability to develop new tax planning opportunities for clients and to support and develop his tax colleagues' tax planning acumen. Dennis is also the leader for our Southern Ontario professional services sector. In both roles, Dennis frequently makes presentations internally and to external focused clients on tax planning and related matters. Dennis' involvement with our clients in the privately held business sector focuses on providing tax and related advice on matters of a strategic nature including asset/business interest divestures, and finding opportunities to enhance cash flows.

With over 25 years of experience, a depth of tax knowledge and the ability to strategically analyze a client's situation in a personalized, creative manner, Dennis is sought out by clients as a valuable resource and sounding board on complex matters. Through his experience and his areas of interest, Dennis has focused his service offerings on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, credit proofing assets, maximizing shareholder/owner-manager distributions, trust and estate planning, and succession matters. Apart from his leadership role in the professional services sector, Dennis has extensive tax and advisory experience in the construction and real estate sector.
